OMK and Gazprom Sign Memorandum on Using Natural Gas as Engine Fuel

“United Metallurgical Company (OMK Joint Stock Company, based in Moscow) and Gazprom Public Joint Stock Company signed a memorandum regarding the use of natural gas as engine fuel on the sidelines of the ‘5th International Gas Forum’ in St. Petersburg today. Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Board at Gazprom, and Anatoly Sedykh, Chairman of the Board at OMK, signed the document.

According to the memorandum, OMK will study the prospects of reequipping the company’s technical fleet to operate on gas, and of buying new gas-operated equipment. In turn, Gazprom will inform OMK about its plans to expand gas-filling infrastructure in the regions where OMK operates, and if necessary, will make adjustments to these plans. The parties also agreed on developing and implementing programs to introduce gas-powered equipment and on their joint participation in similar industry and regional programs.”
