Lebedinsky GOK confirms the compliance of its occupational health and safety management system with international standards

Lebedinsky GOK (part of Metalloinvest) has successfully passed an annual inspection of its occupational health and safety (OHS) management system, confirming that it is compliant with the OHSAS 18001: 2007 industrial safety standard.

During the inspection of the OHS management system, Anatoly Putyrsky, an expert from the International British Standards Institute, visited the key departments of the plant, the workplaces within the production sites, and spoke with employees.

Based on the results of the inspection, the auditor concluded that Lebedinsky GOK was in line with international standards, noting the positive aspects of the OHS management system and making recommendations for improving individual aspects of the system.

Oleg Mikhailov, Managing Director at Lebedinsky GOK, said: "The audit showed that the Company took into account all risks and developed measures in order to allow the plant to work consistently and systematically, reducing possible hazards and disruptions in the output of products. The system dedicated to ensuring safe working conditions at the plant is constantly being improved and developed. At all of its enterprises, Metalloinvest carries out a large amount of work with its employees to promote health and safety requirements, inform each employee of the importance of their strict compliance with these requirements and accept and implement proposals for improving the existing system. After all, the health and safety of our employees has always been and remains one of the Company’s top priorities.”
